So, who is the idiot? Me for playing a build I've found to be completely viable which I enjoy playing (oh no, I am having FUN playing a GAME, some of you people take this way too seriously.), or short-sighted people like you who are blinded by their own ignorance?
You are so completely free to have fun playing the game, I won't flame you at all. I just roll a necro and use [skill]corrupt enchantment[/skill]. Only a moron goes into an ab match without enchant removal ^^.

I run a R/Mo (Cripshot/BA), a N/A Capper (Virulence/Vile Miasma Degen with Signet of Toxic Shock and several other tricks) or a W/X (varies based on my mood).

A good MM will rock hard, but they are hard to come by.

Yeah, I usually find you guys and use distracting shot. And with my ranger stances, I can usually hold off most attacks against me, with only a few hiccups here and there when someone actually knows how to defend against me (with wild blow). So yeah, theres no real infallible build (and I know mine isn't a caster, I'm just using it to prove a point. Said point follows.). Anything has a drawback. You just have to find a build that exploits the way other people often don't think.

The characters i bring to Ab are, Burning arrow ranger, sf ele, and mobius strike assassin. My favourite by far is my ranger, his general ability to own all other classes rocks.

My personal favorite AB builds are spirit rits, which can work wonders, especially in Ancestral if you're trying to hold the bridge. The only problem with those are nukers, which can rape your spirits if you set them too close. Other than that, with time to set up, I've beaten 5 ~6 people.

Also, as I realized a few days ago (when I first played it myself, I'd had trouble with the jerks a loong time before), the AotL mm is sick, takes about half a team to kill you.

I once took a team for 4 rits spammer into ab. we waited for the gigantic mob scene to happen and then we split for the front and teleport pads. 2 up in the middle and 1 on each pad. OMG it was carnage. As long as the rest shrine was ours its was a landslide victory.

My AB dream team would be:
Nuker
Monk
disruption/shutdown char (mes, curse necro)
and a melee with lots of KD.

Without KD the nuker becomes a liability in other activities then shrine capping, when you can KD-lock a target for a while (bachbreaker, bulls strike or w/e) you can nuke them while they're on their butt. A shutdown character is needed to protect the squishie ele and the monk, well, he monks.

I would say the best spellcasters in there are necro (no mm), mesmer and ele.

ever meet 3 very *rare* NOT skills in AB?
Corrupt Enchantment
Shatter Enchantment
Drain Enchantment

the only reason you have some success with a Tera Tank is because so many noobs just pound on you unable to kill you because they lack brains and thus you accomplish the role of a nuker and crip shot simultaniously you solo cap shrines rather quickly cause NPCs have crap skill bars, Monks with Healing Burst ffs and get a mob around you, cause they also have sucky skill bars without any enchantment removal and no brains to leave you alone...

but this is too conditional to my liking, I come by at least 3-4 decent-good players on the Kurzick side(I'm Luxon) every AB match, maybe it's just my luck, that will probably know what to do or what not to do against Tera Tanks...

your problem is: no mobility, very limited offense, fragile defense.
this build is called a FARMING build for a reason... mobs dont have brains, and sadly neither do some AB/RA players...

I think this is getting off topic. I believe the original question was what the best spellcasting class to earn faction with. It really does depend on how you play and who you play with.
Do you have a shadow prison friend? go support rit with splinter and ancestar's rage. clear shrines out fast.
Do you like to blow things up? go met shower with rodgort+mind blast spam. and perhaps use dervish secondary for some healing. Maybe even Savannah heat with gale?
Do you like to play a mesmer? Go ineptitude with some degen spells.
Like to hex players? Go curse necro with some degen skills and some nasty hexes like spiteful or maybe even you reaper's mark. Or go blood and use spoil victor or even life transfer.

There really is no "Best Spellcasting class." People like fire eles because it's easy to run and it does awesome AoE damage.
